United Russia’s Young Guard division has declared that it is planning to hold a rally on Saturday under the slogan “Our money – to our people.” The youth division of the renowned political party wants a prohibition even of legal labor migration, to deport immigrants from Russia, and to begin patrolling the streets in search of gastarbeiters.
Young Guard members believe that immigrants have to be sent off the country for no less than a year, “yielding their jobs to the Russians, adopting the relevant legal acts.”
Young Guard wants to hold its rallies in front of the Federal Migration Service and the offices of well-known construction companies that employ foreign labor force. Protests are also to be held in St. Petersburg, Nizhniy Novgorod, Chelyabinsk, Novosibirsk, and Khabarovsk.
The Federal Migration Service has criticized the initiative by saying that migrants are involved in doing those jobs that local citizens are not willing to perform. Apart from that, special business agreements between CIS countries do not allow such protests, the agency added.
